1.0mm 5356 Aluminium MIG Wire. 2kg reel (the same reel size as a 5kg mild steel reel)
Our aluminium MIG wire is not the same as others on the market – we buy from one source rather than chopping and changing to save a few pennies as we know the quality of the wire is good. When it comes to the wire, consistency is key.
Our wire conforms to British Standards (BS 2901 5356).
Whenever welding aluminium please ensure you wire brush the surface first to remove any oxide that has built up and also ensure that you are using a contact tip that is intended for aluminium. The hole sizes have been specifically made to allow for the expansion rate of aluminium compared to that of standard mild steel tips.
5356 is a 5% Magnesium wire which has a high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. If anodising your work after the weld should not discolour. This is also the traditional multi-purpose MIG wire for welding aluminium.

All our gas shielded wire is precision layer wound and supplied on a universal type plastic spool. The layer wound wire feeds easier through the machine and torch giving you a more consistent weld.
