Description

OK Autrod 5183 is a high-strength filler metal developed for use with alloy AA 5083 and other similar high magnesium alloys. It provides higher tensile strength than the more common OK Autrod 5356 in the as-welded condition. OK Autrod 5183 is typically used in marine and structural applications where high strength, fracture toughness, and resistance to corrosion are important. It is not recommended for elevated temperature applications due to its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is non-heat treatable.
