The copper coated, low alloyed, molybdenum (0.5% Mo) rod is a TIG rod that is used to weld creep resistant steels. These steels are used in applications where high strength and resistance to creep are required, such as pipes in pressure vessels and boilers. The rod has a working temperature of up to about 500 degrees Celsius. The copper coating helps to improve the arc stability and heat conductivity, while the molybdenum content provides additional strength and toughness.
